This week the Pasadena Police Department and Pasadena Fire Department in conjunction with the Pasadena Unified School District, have been conducting Active Shooter training at Washington Middle School in Pasadena. First Responders worked through mock active shooter scenarios that simulate the real problems associated with emergency response and the management of these high risk and dynamic situations such as a shooter in a school.
Scores of police officers, firefighters, paramedics and PUSD officials wearing bullet proof vests initiated searches for the “shooter” while safely evacuating students from the school.

The training occurred each day between 1-4PM.
“The Pasadena Police and Fire Departments and Pasadena Unified School District are committed to maintaining community safety, especially in our schools. Training scenarios like this are essential for preparedness,” stated Police Chief Phillip Sanchez.
The city reminds everyone that we each play a role in hometown safety. If you See Something, Say Something is the motto the police wish to get across. Report non-emergency information to the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241, or you may report information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or http://lacrimestoppers.org
