LASD Probes Deputy Cheating
An internal probe into possible cheating on tests launched Monday
According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating whether deputies cheated on the exams that are required for promotions.
The Los Angeles Times obtained a mass email Thursday sent within the department announcing the internal affairs investigation.
Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said the department was tipped off on Saturday and Internal Affairs opened an investigation on Monday.
“We are taking this very seriously,” he said.
It’s not clear how the allegations arose or how many deputies are under investigation, according the the Time report,
