Assistance League Installation had WOW factor
Featuring the theme of the incoming President, “Oh the Places You’ll Go”, the Assistance League of Arcadia held its Annual Meeting and Luncheon at the San Gabriel Country Club on May 28th. Two term President Maryann Gibson, stepping down from a very successful presidency, passed her title to incoming President Keppie Sullivan. Marcia Garrett and Shelly Romo were the installing officers. A special highlight was the participation of Keppie’s husband, Dr. David Sullivan, dressed as the Cat in the Hat presenting rhyming installation words and daughter Kate Sullivan singing “You’re the Top” to her mother. Karen Tanner, Sheryl Schreiber, and the Social Committee, created a festive atmosphere with uniquely designed hot air balloon centerpieces playing up the whimsical theme beautifully.
This most special year for Assistance League of Arcadia, as they will be celebrating 60 years of service to the community. Assistance League’s charitable programs touch the lives of children, families and seniors. Funding for these programs is provided by proceeds from their thrift store sales, donations and grants. These programs rely on the involvement of more than 340 hands on, unpaid volunteer members. Visit their website for additional program information and membership opportunities, at ALArcadia.org.
