Anthony Pina, 19, of Glendora was booked on suspicion of drunken driving and felony hit and run following the nearly fatal accident before 6 a.m Sunday, according to Monrovia police and California Highway Patrol officials. Charges including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon were also expected to be sought against Pina.
He was driving a Buick Regal that struck and badly injured a 63-year-old Duarte man who was riding a bicycle at Huntington Drive and Mountain Avenue according to police reports.
He also apparently had hit another cyclist earlier and then attempted to ram a car that was following the bizarre and reckless Pina.
