Man shoots self after traffic stop in Los Angeles

Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man that occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at approximately 7:10 AM, in the 1500 block of West Exposition Boulevard, Los Angeles.
Detectives have learned that when deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle, the driver accelerated and then pulled to the curb. Initially the suspect was cooperative and put his hands out of the driver’s window, then suddenly withdrew his hands back into the car and shot himself.
The suspect was wanted in connection with an investigation by Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS) personnel.
