Red, white and blue, rousing song and smiling faces over ice cream sundaes will abound in Memorial Park in Sierra Madre on
Sunday, July 14, from 4-6 p.m. The League of Women Voters Pasadena Area is holding an old-fashioned ice cream social open to the public and for all ages. For all the ice cream you can eat the cost is $10 for the first adult in your party and $5 for each additional guest. Children under 13 are free.
The party features Fosselman’s ice cream in waffle bowls with choices of toppings: hot fudge, caramel, strawberries, peaches,
chocolate sprinkles, M&M’s, nuts – all topped by whipped cream and a cherry on top. The Night Shift band of five will accompany the festivities with music from the World War II era. Other entertainment includes children’s crafts and face painting, a hat parade and probably conversations about how citizens can make democracy work.
Reservations and information are available by calling 626-798-0965. Walk-ins also welcome.
