Most people know when Dog Haus Biergarten throws a party, it is epic. And, on Saturday July 6, 2013, the popular Old Pasadena hot spot’s inaugural Hot Dog Eating Contest will not disappoint.
Special guest Peter Dills, The King of Cuisine, will also be on hand along with the winner of his recent chicken wing competition, Jon Davenport, who will now vie for the chance to become the top dog of hot dog eating!
The fun and festivities will flow from Noon to 4:00pm and feature a DJ, a host of patio games, prizes, cool Dog Haus swag and visits from breweries including Stone Brewing Co. and Karl Strauss Brewery, both from San Diego, LA’s own Golden Road Brewery and Bootlegger’s Brewery from Fullerton. The Hot Dog Eating Contest begins at 3:00pm.
While it is free to watch, a mere $20 entry fee will guarantee participants not only walk away with a full stomach but also a custom one liter Dog Haus stein and a Dog Haus t-shirt.
“Dog Haus has always wanted to have a Hot Dog eating contest and we figured when better than during National Hot Dog Month,” said Tony Pereyra of Dog Haus Biergarten, who organized the event. “We are pumped up for this, as are our guest breweries, customers and participants. We look forward to it being the first of many hot dog eating events at Dog Haus Biergarten!”
Dog Haus Biergarten is located at 93 East Green Street in Old Pasadena. Accessible from Green Street, there is 90 minute free parking at The Schoolhouse Parking structure located at Green and Raymond as well as metered parking.
