

Temple Station received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 1:56pm on Wednesday, May 22 from a female reporting that a bear cub entered her residential window and was seen on the kitchen counter and helped them self to a mid-afternoon snack. The resident ran to a second floor bathroom and locked the door. Several units responded to the call, along with a City of Duarte animal control officer. A deputy and the animal control officer entered the house and found the bear on the kitchen counter eating some food. They left the door open and made noises to scare the bear. The bear ran out via the front door and into the surrounding forest area. The bear was estimated to have been approximately 1 year old. The Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified of the incident. To hear the 9-1-1 click on the link:
