DOG HAUS RUNNING CLUB LAPS ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY ON MAY 1, 2013
100 Person Strong Weekly Pasadena FFP Running Club Celebrates Milestone
With A Tuesday Night 5K And After-Party At Dog Haus Biergarten
May 1, 2013, Pasadena – On any given Tuesday night, members of Dog Haus Running Club take to the streets of Pasadena for an invigorating run or walk, usually followed by a yoga stretch with Janine Glass, always ending up in the Dog Haus!
Earlier this week, the high-spirited and welcoming group marked their one year anniversary with a marathon-sized party that drew more than 140 people at Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Pasadena. The Dog Haus Running Club, which launched with less than 30 people, has grown into a full-fledged community of more than 600 unique members, with between 90 to 100 members showing up each week. The official one year anniversary was on May 1, 2013.
“It was amazing! Every week is amazing,” said Dog Haus Biergarten Running Club co-founder Kim Kouwabunpat, who organized the group, which is an affiliate of FFP Running Clubs, after she moved to the area two years ago. “I was introduced to FFP Running Clubs by its founder Dave Lee when I lived in Houston and loved what it stands for so much that I decided to create a group in Pasadena.”
What does FFP Running Club’s stand for? FITNESS, FUN and PHILANTHROPY!
“Our group is open to everyone, but they should be at least 21 years old,” Kouwabunpat laughed in reference to the fun part. “We love fitness and we drink! “Dog Haus Running Club welcomes people of all fitness levels as well. Run, jog, walk or crawl, as long as you make it back to the Biergatren ready to have some fun.”
Kouwabunpat knew immediately that Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Pasadena, with its large outdoor patio, ‘80’s music and friendly staff, was the perfect location to sponsor the running club.
“There is a formula to how FFP Running Clubs work and having the right venue is key. Dog Haus Biergarten is also ideal for the demographic we attract. Fun, young or young at heart,” she continued noting that while the majority of the members range from their early 20’s to late 30’s, the membership also includes people in their 60’s. “We are so fortunate that Dog Haus Biergarten has created a place we can call home on Tuesday nights.”
The feeling is mutual.
“Dog Haus Running Club has become part of our Dog Haus extended family,” said Dog Haus Biergarten Manager Raz Mahrouk. “We always look forward to Tuesday nights with them.”
Dog Haus Running Club is free and offers incentives to its participants from a growing list of Pasadena-based sponsors including Run With Us

The club, which is one of 14 FFP Running Clubs throughout the country, also holds Philanthropy among its core values.
