‘Foxy 6’ Activists Pre-Trial Hearing Delayed

Protestors arrested last November during Vicente Fox’s visit to Pasadena want charges dropped

The ‘Foxy 6’ and their defense team held a press conference and rally after their court hearing in Pasadena on Monday, April 22, to update the public on the status of the case and call for all charges against them to be dropped.

The Foxy 6 are individuals who were “attacked and arrested by the Pasadena Police on November 14, 2012.” according to organizers.
In response to the “Worldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas” last November, a group of activists gathered outside the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, where ex-president of Mexico Vicente Fox was speaking as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series. The group came to distribute fliers about the massacre of 45 indigenous villagers in Chiapas during Fox’s presidency, and the continuing government repression of those speaking up for democracy.
Six individuals were arrested during the peaceful demonstration, and are now facing multiple misdemeanor and felony charges, including inciting to riot, resisting arrest, and assault on an officer. The Pre-trial hearing for the Foxy 6, with supporters packing the courtroom wearing red bandannas, was continued.

Christopher Wohlers, Benjamen Torres, Ulises Hernandez, Alejandro Torres, Brian Connoly and Dara Glanzer were arrested and charged with various degrees of crimes last November. The first four individuals were arreseted and charged with: resisting arrest, battery on a police officer, battery with injury on a police officer among other crimes. The last two were obstructing and interference with a special event.
