Garrett Leight California Optical is already well known for outfitting the eyes of Venice’s style mavens, but now the brand is bringing their classic yet modern glasses to the greater L.A. area.
“A ton of people on Abbot Kinney are wearing our glasses. They are kinda everywhere you turn. We felt it was time to provide a better location for the rest of Los Angeles.” said Adrian Mardyks, cofounder of GLCO.
Their original Venice store opened in 2009, and quickly became one of the main retailers in the area, offering apparel, footwear, and, of course, vintage and modern eyewear. They opened the doors to their new flagship shop on La Brea this past December.
Though this may seem like your typical frame shop, GLCO offers a much different experience than the rest. Focused more on customer service and the art in optical wear, they are committed to keeping the aesthetic fresh.
“The art of making frames and optical shops is sort of an old time practice. We wanted to stay true to the art while still making it youthful and modern.” said Mardyks.
Head down to their boutique store located on 165 S. La Brea Blvd to check out their California-inspired specs for yourself.
