The gala empty house party on Friday put on by Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts was another in s string of huge successes for the philanthropic organization.
Hundreds of guest and VIPs meandered their way through the empty rooms of the Arcadia mansion that will be transformed into a designer showcase work of art later this year. As guests devoured the gourmet delights which included such delicacies as oysters on the half shell, Alaskan crab legs and crab in one room; designers detailed their elaborate plans for the home to the throngs who were shuttled into the exclusive Arcadia residence.
Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts awards gifts and grants to schools and symphonic associations. These gifts and grants are awarded to support musically oriented programs which include music therapy, music education and the underwriting of concerts.
Since 1948, Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts has awarded 18 million dollars in gifts and grants to support the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Walt Disney Concert Hall and other non-profit organizations that support local cultural and educational musically oriented programs for youth.
A Gifts and Grants reception is held each year at the Pasadena Showcase House of Design. Many of the recipients have performed at the reception for the members of the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts.
Tickets will go on sale Feb. 4.
