KEITH BRACKPOOL RESIGNS FROM CHRB
Keith Brackpool, chairman of the California Horse Racing Board for the last three years, announced Friday that he had notified the Office of Governor Edmund. G. Brown Jr. on Thursday that he was submitting his resignation from the Board, effective Thursday. CHRB Vice Chairman David Israel has assumed the duties of chairman.
The Stronach Group, owner of Santa Anita Park, Golden Gate Fields, and other racing interests, is expected to issue a statement today indicating that Brackpool is buying an equity position in the company.
Brackpool was appointed to the CHRB by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 24, 2009, through July 26, 2013.
