Police Pursuit in Pasadena Results in Mother and Child Killed
Four Area Residents Arrested for Manslaughter
On December 25, at 8:00 p.m., Pasadena Police Officers observed a silver SUV commit a traffic violation in the area of Claremont Street and Marengo Avenue. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however, the suspect driver failed to yield accelerating away from the officers at a high rate of speed.
A short time later the suspect vehicle collided with a mini van at the intersection of Marengo Ave and Maple Street. The mini van contained 5 occupants. As a result of the collision one adult female and one male child were killed. The three remaining victims were transported to local area hospitals.
The suspect vehicle contained four occupants. All were detained at the scene. The suspects required medical attention for moderate injuries and were transported to local area hospitals. The suspects were arrested for vehicular manslaughter. The Pasadena Police Department’s Traffic Section is investigating the incident.
The Pasadena Police Department identified the two victims that were killed as a result of the vehicle pursuit,.. A female adult died at the scene, as a result of her injuries and a male minor, 11 years old, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The four suspects who were being pursued by police officers were taken into custody at the scene. They have been identified as:
