Celebrations at Government Affairs Forum – Dec. 6

The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce will be honoring several special people at the next Government Affairs Forum held on Thursday, December 6 at 8am:
” Gov. Affairs Chairman Peter Ulrich for his recent 90th Birthday & many years of dedication to the Chamber and Arcadia.
” Mark Harmsen, Congressman David Dreier’s Field Representative, who will be leaving us after 27 years due to Dreier’s retirement.
” Steve Johnson, who has worked for the State Assembly for 21 years, including 17 with Legislators representing Arcadia. Assemblyman Tim Donnelly no longer represents Arcadia.
” David Monroy, whose boss Senator Bob Huff, will not be in Arcadia’s district any longer.
” Bill Hacket, who formerly represented Assemblyman Portantino at monthly Government Affairs meetings, ribbon cuttings, grand openings and many other community events.
” Hovanes Gasparian, recently representing Assemblyman Portantino at the Government Affairs meetings, business ribbon cuttings & grand openings and other Chamber & community events.

The guest speaker for this month’s meeting will be Phil Doudar, LA County Department of Public Works Principal Engineer, with a presentation on the LA County Parcel Tax.

The monthly Government Affairs Forums are held the first Thursday of each month at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, 388 W. Huntington Dr. and led by co-chairmen Peter Ulrich, former Arcadia City Councilman, and Mary Dougherty, former President of the Arcadia School District Board of Education.
