Pasadena residents are invited to join Pasadena Water and Power and the Arroyo Seco Foundation on a free, guided nature hike of the beautiful Arroyo Seco beginning at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24. The four-mile route will take participants through the earliest history of water capture and distribution in Pasadena, providing an opportunity to view original artifacts from the community’s first water system.
Registration for this event is required. Please visit www.pwpweb.com/watercentennial for registration information. The hike is two miles each way, for a total of four miles round trip and is of moderate difficulty. The route is mostly flat, with one significant hill and a few street crossings. A route map can be found at www.arroyoseco.org. Please bring water, sun/rain protection and please wear closed-toe shoes appropriate for hiking. Additional details below.
Event: Historic “Zanja” Walk, Date: Saturday, November 24, Start Time: 9:00 a.m. Trail Head: Please meet in the lower parking lot at Hahamongna Watershed Park, near the athletic field.
This free public event is part of a month-long program celebrating Pasadena’s Water Centennial. For hike updates, registration information and a complete list of events this month, please visit www.pwpweb.com/watercentennial.
Pasadena Water & Power wishes to thank the following community partners and individuals who have contributed to our Water Centennial celebration and public programs: Pasadena Museum of History, The Arroyo Seco Foundation, Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena Public Library, Tim Brick & Ann Erdman.
