On Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:31 a.m., Arcadia Fire Department responded to a reported kitchen fire at 411 East Huntington Drive, suite #103. Units from Arcadia and Monrovia Fire Departments arrived at Basil Thai Cooking restaurant and found smoke inside the restaurant and emitting from the roof.

Suppression personnel determined the fire was in the hood and duct system above the stove and was spreading vertically to the roof of the multi-story building. The fire was quickly extinguished on the roof and inside the hood and duct. Further investigation revealed that the business owner had experienced minor facial burns while manually activating the hoods fire extinguishing system which extinguished the fire on the stove. The patient was treated at scene by Paramedics.
