Oakdale Celebrates Dia De Los Muertos with Inaugural Cultural Festival

In the tradition of Dia de los Muertos, Oakdale Memorial Park will host the 1st Annual Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival with an art exhibit showcasing: the talents of various artists; special arts & crafts activities for children; delicious food trucks; a local vendor area; a special blessing and performances and entertainment including Atlachinolli, Aztec dance group leading a procession, Ballet Folklorico de UCI (University of California, Irvine) and Mariachi Trompetas de Mexico. In addition, families are invited to create their own altar and enter the community altar contest featuring a corridor for display and celebration. To commemorate this special day, Oakdale Memorial Park and Mortuary hosts the Annual Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival as a way to celebrate and honor the lives of the many loved ones who have passed away. The rich traditions and history is shared with all families from Glendora and the surrounding communities.
