Arcadia PD
Sunday, September 23:
At about 3:00 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of East Winnie Way regarding a traffic accident in which a vehicle had struck a home. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol and lost control. The 26-year-old White male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. Around 5:53 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a theft report. An adult suspect concealed merchandise inside used shopping bags and exited the store without making payment. The 63-year-old Asian female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, September 24:
Shortly after 9:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to 7-Eleven, 2 East Duarte Road, in regards to an armed robbery that had just occurred. Officers conducted an area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. An investigation revealed the suspect, wearing a skull mask and all black clothing, pointed a black handgun at the store manager and demanded money. The manager grabbed onto the suspect’s gun and struggled with him over the counter, during which time the suspect fired one round into the ceiling. The suspect fled the store leaving behind a black backpack. No loss was reported. The incident was recorded on video surveillance and further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau. Around 8:54 p.m., an officer responded to the 000 block of California Street regarding a theft report. The reporting party entered his vehicle, which he parked on the street to the front of his residence, and discovered it was not operating properly. He examined his vehicle and discovered the catalytic converter was missing. A wrench was found lying in the grass next to the vehicle. No one reported seeing or hearing anything suspicious.
Tuesday, September 25:
At about 8:35 p.m., an officer was dispatched to CVS, 188 Las Tunas Drive, in reference to a battery. A pregnant victim was attacked from behind by an unknown suspect while getting an item out of her vehicle. Two witnesses ran to assist her and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male in his forties, approximately 5’10’ tall, medium build, with short black hair and some facial hair, wearing a short-sleeve gray t-shirt and light colored pants. The victim was later taken to the Arcadia Methodist Hospital for an evaluation. One fingerprint was located on the vehicle and further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.
At approximately 11:00 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having an illegal speed contest with two other vehicles at the intersection of Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver also had an illegal smog modification. The 20-year-old Hispanic male was cited, released in the field, and his vehicle was impounded.
Wednesday, September 26:
At about 7:45 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of East Camino Real Avenue regarding a 9-1-1 hang-up. Dispatch advised they heard screaming in the background. An investigation revealed a woman pushed her spouse after an argument over a credit card. The 52-year-old Chinese female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 10:13 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 125 North First Avenue, in reference to a theft investigation. The victim discovered an unknown suspect(s) broke into his locker and stole his gym bag. No one reported seeing or hearing anything suspicious. Review of surveillance footage was pending at the time of the report.
Thursday, September 27:
Shortly after 9:20 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a window and ransacked the victim’s bedroom. A laptop and two antique watches were reported missing. No witnesses were located. At approximately 10:05 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West Las Tunas Drive in regards to a suspicious person. A Hispanic subject, claiming to be a construction worker, knocked on the victim’s front door and asked to “check his water lines for contamination”. The resident escorted the subject to the kitchen sink and bathroom where he watched the subject turn on the faucets. The subject then asked to check the backyard where he turned on the water hose. After the subject told the victim to leave the water hose running to “see if the water changed colors”, the victim became suspicious and escorted the subject to his front driveway where he left in an unknown direction. The victim believes the subject was casing his house for a potential burglary.
Friday, September 28:
Just before 7:00 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a skateboarder for riding his skateboard on the sidewalk in the Business District area of Huntington Drive and Second Avenue. An investigation revealed the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The 25-year-old White male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. At about 12:12 p.m., an officer responded to First Avenue Middle School, 301 South First Avenue, in reference to a student with a knife. An investigation revealed an 11-year-old Asian male was in possession of a tool that contained a collapsible knife. The student was transported to the Arcadia Police Department for counseling and later released to his father.
Saturday, September 29:
Shortly after 8:15 a.m., an officer made consensual contact with a subject walking southbound on the east sidewalk of Peck Road at Hallwood Drive. The officer noticed the subject was stumbling as he walked and discovered he was under the influence of methamphetamine. A records check revealed he was on parole. The 32-year-old Hispanic male was arrested, transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking, and placed on a parole hold. At about 11:57 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 200 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a two-party traffic collision. Party-one, driving a White Lexus, hit a bicyclist as he made a left turn into the parking lot at an unsafe speed. An investigation revealed the bicyclist was also not paying attention as he rode in circles in front of oncoming traffic. The bicyclist sustained several scrapes to his body and was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment.

Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
September 14 at 5:53 p.m., a vehicle was traveling south on Myrtle, South of Duarte, lost control, hit the curb and went airborne. The vehicle collided into a telephone pole and light pole, knocking them both down and starting an electrical fire. Officers arrived and determined the driver to be driving under the influence. The driver sustained minor injuries. The driver was arrested.
Shots Fired / Attempted Murder – Suspects Arrested
September 15th at 11:25 p.m., Monrovia Police Officers were in the 100 block of Montana handling a loud party call when they heard the sound of shots fired. Units immediately broke and began an area check. A victim was found in the 100 block of East Los Angeles. Officers were told by witnesses that a Maroon van was seen driving northbound through the north/south alley of the 1300 block of South Myrtle. As it turned onto eastbound Los Angeles, two or three shots were fired at a male and female sitting on the porch of a residence in the 100 block of Los Angeles. The female was hit in the torso and upper right leg by what appears to be bird shot from a shotgun.
An officer in the area saw a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description getting onto the 210 Freeway, eastbound, and stopped the vehicle at Ramona and the 605 Freeway. The van was occupied by three male Hispanic suspects. The Van was positively identified as the suspect vehicle and the three suspects were arrested. The female victim is in stable condition. Initial investigation indicates this shooting may be gang related.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
September 16 at 2:40 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Pilgrim Way regarding a disturbance involving a male and female. The female called police and stated she was worried that her boyfriend, who had been drinking all day, was going to get into his car and drive home. When officers arrived, the male was outside near his vehicle. He was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for being drunk in public.
Medical Assist
September 19 at 1:39 a.m., police received a call reporting a man not breathing at a residence in the 800 block of West Walnut. Officers responded and found a 50-year-old man unconscious. They administered four shocks from an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and performed CPR until they were relieved by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics. The victim was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
Grand Theft Auto Recovered
September 19 at 3:07 p.m., a stolen vehicle was located in the backyard of a residence in the 100 block of East Los Angeles Street. The vehicle had been previously repossessed from the location. The repossession company in Los Angeles discovered the vehicle was missing from their lot and reported in stolen to the Los Angeles Police Department. The vehicle was discovered in the backyard of the residence, exactly where it had been repossessed from a few days prior. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the repossession company. Investigation continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
September 19 at 9:50 p.m., a vehicle burglary occurred in the 200 block of Grand. Witnesses saw two suspects ransacking the victim’s truck, which was parked on the street. Tools were stolen from the vehicle. The victim reported that the vehicle was locked. The suspects gained entry by an unknown means. Suspect #1 is described as a male Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, 5’9” to 6’0” tall, dark hair, a tattoo on the left side of his neck, wearing a gray shirt and dark pants. Suspect #2 is described as a male Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, 5’6” tall, wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark pants. The suspects fled in a small vehicle with round tail lights. Investigation continuing.
Parole Violation – Suspect Arrested
On September 21 at 2:31 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 1200 block of Encino when they noticed a group of subjects in front of a residence. They recognized the subjects and requested a warrant check, which revealed one of the subjects had a no-bail warrant for parole violation. Officers approached and took the suspect into custody without incident.
Robbery
On September 21 at 8:47 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a robbery that just occurred near the 100 block of West Lemon. A 12-year-old boy had been hit in the head by an unknown suspect and his bicycle was taken from him. The suspect is described as a male White, late teens or early twenties, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. He was last seen riding the stolen bicycle north through an alley with a male Hispanic subject who was wearing a red shirt and was on another bicycle. Officers made an extensive area check, but did not locate the suspect. The stolen bicycle is a Sabroso brand, Stunt Jumper, model MX, with red forks. The victim was checked by paramedics and then taken to a hospital for further examination. Investigation continuing.
Commercial Burglary
On September 23 at 4:02 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a burglary. Suspect(s) pried open the rear door of a business and removed a small safe from the premises. The loss was a small amount of cash. Investigation continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
On September 23 at 7:43 a.m., a female juvenile from a girl’s home in the 100 block of North Ivy stole one of the home caretaker’s vehicles. The suspect is currently on probation for grand theft auto and has a history of running away. Officers made an area check around town for the vehicle with negative results. The Sheriff’s Department helicopter assisted with the area check. California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department were notified. The investigation is continuing.
Sierra Madre PD
Sunday, September 23
At 7:45pm officers observed a vehicle travelling south on MichillindaAvenue at a speed of 55 mph. As they attempted to stop the vehicle the officers observed additional traffic violations. The officer’s investigation revealed the driver had been drinking and he failed to pass any of the field sobriety tests. The driver (male, 62 years of age) was arrested for DUI.
Wednesday, September 26
At 8pm, officers responded to a report of a traffic collision at Baldwin Avenue and Highland Avenue. The investigation determined that an individual on a motorcycle lost control of the vehicle and went down on the roadway. The driver had collided with a fixed object and the driver sustained injury. The driver (male 27 years of age)had been drinking and was subsequently cited for DUI.
