Over 200 partygoers dined on a sustainable, organically farmed feast at A/K/A American Bistro in Pasadena this weekend in support of the essential services and programs provided at Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley. Guests delighted in memorable cuisine with nearly every
ingredient made in house and generously sponsored by A/K/A owners Robert and Deborah Simon.
“We’re thrilled to partner with such a critical Pasadena institution,” said Robert Simon. “Every day they provide preventive services and information that keeps local families healthy, and that’s something we’re proud to be a part of.”
Community members convened for the Fall Benefit, one of two annual events that celebrate the work of the local Planned Parenthood, which this year celebrates 79 years as a vital part of the local communities. Today, Planned Parenthood is more important than ever to local families and continues to expand services to meet the increased need for preventive care.
“We’re here to ensure that nobody gets left behind as the health care framework in our country shifts,” said Sheri Bonner, President and CEO. “We’re grateful for our growing number of supporters who value Planned Parenthood as a trusted place that women and families rely on for the critical services and tools needed to plan a healthy future.”
Planned Parenthood supporters are passionate about investing in access to compassionate, comprehensive care to keep our communities healthy and thriving. Alongside Patron Chair Joan T. Caillouette and Benefit Chair Fiona Harwich, many dynamic Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley leaders have joined the Benefit Committee, including Hilary Clark, Kate Clavijo, Lauren Frankel, Brooke Larsen Garlock, Kathy Gillespie, Pat Glazier, Monica Partridge, Eileen White Read, Jan Tranquada, and Felicia Williams.
Over 41,000 local residents received high-quality care at Planned Parenthood’s four local health centers and multiple satellite locations this past year. More than 95% of the health care services are preventive, including life-saving cancer screenings, all FDA-approved methods of birth control, annual exams, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and much more.
