For more than four decades, José Eber, the likable and charismatic celebrity hair stylist, has been in the forefront of the beauty world. He created influential looks through the decades that have endured the test of time and become true classics and his client list has included such stars as Farrah Fawcett, Cher, Jaclyn Smith, Elizabeth Taylor and the Who’s Who of Hollywood. He remains a leading trendsetter in hair and fashion throughout the world. So on Monday when Jose Eber and his Beverly Hills salon team took over the visitors’ center at City of Hope in Duarte there was quite a buzz, if you’ll pardon the pun.
Kara Fox and Evvy Shapero, founders of Glamour Project, and Linda Klein, operations manager at the Sheri & Les Biller Patient and Family Resource Center along with Eber greeted City of Hope patients and fit and styled them with wigs and make-up, and provided individualized professional hair and make-up consultations.
One of Eber’s clients on Monday was an 8-year-old young lady with perhaps the widest smile we’ve ever witnessed. Arpine was fitted personally by Eber with a pig-tail wig which she loved until she saw a really rather modern purple doo, and of course she had to try that too. Eber asked 8-year old Arpine which she prefered. Although the pony tails were nice, she seemed to take a shine to the purple and black wig. Eber donated both to Arpine after she was fitted with the “ more hip look.” He also insisted that young Arpine visit his Beverly Hills Salon.
One in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in her lifetime. Duarte’s City of Hope’s has committed compassionate patient care means that its approach to treatment aims to do more than just save lives – it seeks to preserve the quality of life for patients of all ages.
Jose Eber and his team believe that being an advocate in the fight against women’s cancers means ensuring that women’s lives during and after cancer are empowering, whole and healthy. In collaboration with the Sheri & Les Biller Patient and Family Resource Center, women cancer patients received a full day of beauty which included wig fittings, make-up consultation and cosmetology tips from the best styling experts in the professional salon industry.
Eber’s salon islocated in Beverly Hills at 360 North Camden Drive.
