Eight Cocktails Remain in Pasadena’s SIP-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge

Voting for Exquisite Eight continues through Sunday, September 23rd

The Exquisite Eight have been determined in the inaugural SIP-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge. Over the past month, online voters have whittled the list down from 64 cocktails. In total 1086 voters took the third round cocktail bracket challenge. Voting to determine the four cocktails that will compete for the title of Pasadena Cocktail of 2012 continues through Sunday, September 23rd at www.pasadenarestaurantweek.com.
Cocktails still in the running to be named Cocktail of the Year 2012 in Pasadena are:
Gale’s Restaurant: Berry Cooler
Ruth’s Chris Steak House: Broad Street Hurricane
California Pizza Kitchen: Top Shelf Long Island Iced Tea
Magnolia Lounge: Vinnie Chase
Bar 1886 at the Raymond: Orange Grove Cocktail
Toro Sushi Bar Lounge: Finding Nemo
El Cholo: Watermelon Margarita
Gale’s Restaurant Basil Lemon Martini
Four of these drinks will advance to the live SIP-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge Finale on September 27th at Paseo Colorado at 280 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. The four finalist cocktails will be served up in a live competition from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Those in attendance will vote to determine Pasadena’s Cocktail of the Year for 2012.
Attendees at the SIP-tember Bracket Challenge Finale will be able to taste culinary treats from Real Food Daily, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Haven Gastropub+Brewery, Stonefire Grill, El Cholo, Noor Restaurant and Ballroom, California Pizza Kitchen, King’s Row Gastropub, Arclight Cinemas, Toro Sushi and more.
Music for the Cocktail Bracket Challenge Finale is being provided by Dance Syndicate.
Cost to attend the SIP-tember bracket challenge, which includes all drink tastings and food, is $15 per person. You must be at least 21 years of age to sample the cocktails.
The Sip-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge Grand Finale is presented by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Burbank Bob Hope Airport, Anderson Business Technology, Fair Trade Pasadena, Hillsides, Hilton Pasadena, Pasadena Public Library, Walnut Hill Dental and Zigabid. Paseo Colorado is generously providing the space for the live Finale of the SIP-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge.

The SIP-tember cocktail bracket challenge is a six week long competition among Pasadena Chamber of Commerce member restaurants and lounges. Competitors are serving drinks that are paired against each other in a competition. 64 cocktails, ranging from drinks specially concocted for the competition to margaritas and sangria, began the competition that lasts six weeks and culminates in the live taste-off of the four drinks that win their bracket.
