Arcadia PD
Sunday, September 9:
At about 1:33 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the 200 block of East Live Oak Avenue at Louise Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The 40-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 2:28 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of North Baldwin Avenue regarding a report of a sounding alarm. Officers cleared the residence and determined unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a rear door. Meanwhile, assisting officers made contact with two suspicious subjects walking in the area and discovered their vehicle was parked across the street from the burglarized residence. A vehicle search revealed the subjects were in possession of stolen property and burglary tools. The 27-year-old Hispanic male and 39-year-old White female were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, September 10:
Around 10:11 p.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a scooter for expired registration on Michillinda Avenue, south of Colorado Boulevard. The officer discovered the driver was never issued a license, had no insurance, and was displaying fraudulent registration. The 30-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 6:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a medical assist. A female adult was attacked by a swarm of bees as she walked along the sidewalk. Arcadia Fire Department was on scene assisting the victim who suffered over 190 stings to her face and body. AFD located the bees in a palm tree to the front of a residence and eradicated them to prevent any further injuries. The victim was transported to the Arcadia Methodist Hospital where she was placed under observation.
Tuesday, September 11:
At about 5:53 p.m., an officer responded to the 2000 block of South Santa Anita Avenue in reference to a residential burglary report. The victim discovered unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a side window, ransacked his bedrooms, and fled undetected with several items of property. No one saw or heard anything suspicious.
At approximately 6:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 000 block of San Miguel Drive regarding a disturbance. An investigation revealed a male subject violated a restraining order and vandalized his stepfather’s vehicle. The 18-year-old White male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, September 12:
At about 11:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to Arcadia High School, 180 Campus Drive, regarding a bomb threat received through email. The school was placed on lock-down at approximately 11:55 a.m. while officers checked for explosive devices; however, no threats were located. The campus was rendered safe and the lock-down was lifted shortly after 3:40 p.m. An investigation revealed a student sent the email as a prank so that he could avoid taking a test. The 14-year-old Korean male was arrested, transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking, and turned over to the Eastlake Juvenile Detention Center.
Around 3:33 p.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of West Camino Real Avenue in regards to a traffic collision. A driver collided with two unoccupied parked vehicles causing no injuries. An investigation revealed she was under the influence of alcohol. The 54-year-old White female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, September 13:
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., an officer conducted a records check on the guest registry list at Motel 6, 225 Colorado Place, and discovered a no bail warrant. The officer made contact with the occupant of the room who provided false information. A records check of his true identity revealed two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The 26-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 11:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 900 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a disturbance outside a residence. An investigation revealed a female adult was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. The 24-year-old Filipino female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Friday, September 14:
Around 8:50 a.m., an officer responded to the Hampton Inn, 311 East Huntington Drive, regarding a robbery that has just occurred. While walking to his vehicle, the victim was approached by three masked subjects who took his property at gun and knife point. The subjects loaded his luggage into a black BMW sedan and fled northbound out of the parking lot. The victim, an international jewelry businessman, believed he was followed to the hotel after conducting business in another city. He suffered a flesh wound to his side but declined medical attention. Two witnesses were located and further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.
At approximately 6:20 p.m., an officer responded to Hollister at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a theft report. A male suspect concealed a cologne inside his pocket and exited the store without making payment. The 17-year-old Hispanic male was arrested, transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking, and later released to his parent.
Saturday, September 15:
At about 7:29 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for illegally tinted windows in the area of Las Tunas Drive and El Monte Avenue. A records check revealed the driver was never issued a license. The 21-year-old Hispanic male was cited, released in the field, and his vehicle was left legally parked.
Shortly after 1:35 p.m., officers responded to McDonalds, 143 East Foothill Boulevard, in regards to a female subject drinking wine inside the location. The reporting party observed the subject pour wine into a plastic sports bottle. Upon contact with the subject, the officers smelt an odor of alcohol emitting from her breath and located bottles of wine amongst her property. The 53-year-old Black female was cited and released at the scene.

Commercial Burglary / Petty Theft with Priors – Suspect Arrested
August 28 at 11:52 a.m., a business in the 1600 block of South Mountain called police to report a subject they had in custody for commercial burglary. A male subject, recently released from parole in May, was caught attempting to steal wire he had secreted between bags of garden material from the business. He admitted to the officer that he intended to steal the items. His criminal history revealed he had numerous convictions with time served for theft. He was arrested and charged with commercial burglary and petty theft with priors.
Residential Burglary
August 28 at 1:04 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Terrado regarding a residential burglary. An elderly female called police to report her home had been burglarized. She had left the home at 11:00 a.m. and returned at 1:00 p.m. When she returned home, she found someone had taken the glass louvers off of a window. Suspect(s) had entered the home and had taken items of jewelry. The investigation is continuing.
Burglary
August 28 at 9:52 p.m., police responded to the report of a burglary that occurred in the 400 block of East Olive, between 7:20 a.m. and 9:50 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the garage through an unlocked door. The garage is adjacent to an alley. A green dolly was stolen. Investigation continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
August 29 at 12:28 a.m., a car was reported abandoned in the intersection of Canyon and Walnut. A subject was seen, possibly a male, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, running west from the car. Officers arrived and, after investigation, found the car had just been stolen from in front of a residence in the 800 block of South Canyon. The suspect broke a window to gain entry and punched the ignition. It appeared that although the suspect got the engine started, he was unable to unlock the steering wheel to turn the vehicle and he abandoned it at the intersection. The suspect left some tools and a backpack in the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Burglary Tools / Drug Paraphernalia / Stolen Property / Parole Violation – Suspect Arrested
August 29 at 9:24 a.m., a citizen called to report seeing a male subject looking into cars in the 1500 block of South Myrtle. Officers responded and located the subject, a known drug user with a history of theft. The subject was holding a multi-socket tool that looked fairly new. When questioned he admitted to taking the tool from a vehicle near Cypress and Myrtle. A further search of the subject revealed a shaved screw driver and aluminum foil pipe with residue on it. The subject was arrested and booked for the above listed charges. Additionally, the subject violated his parole and a parole hold was issued.
Vehicle Burglary
August 30 at 7:58 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 400 block of Linwood. The victim parked his vehicle in front of a residence at 8:00 p.m. in the evening and returned to it the next morning at 7:50 a.m. When he returned to the vehicle, he found the door lock was punched. A CD player and subwoofers speakers were taken. Investigation continuing.
Bank Robbery
August 30 at 12:54 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at a bank in the 600 block of West Huntington. The suspect handed the bank teller a note, money was given to the suspect, and the suspect walked out. No weapon was seen. The suspect got into a silver, 2010 Chevy Impala and drove away. Surrounding agencies were notified. The suspect is described as a male, Black, 5’ 8” tall, thin build, thin moustache, thin goatee, wearing a red, white and black plaid shirt and dark sunglasses. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft From a Vehicle
August 30 at 17:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of West Palm regarding a theft from a vehicle. The victim parked her vehicle at 7:30 in the evening and did not lock it. When she returned to her vehicle in the morning, she found her laptop computer, purse with cash in it and her wedding ring had been stolen. Investigation continuing.
Theft – Suspect Arrested
August 31 at 9:30 a.m., a customer at a fast food restaurant in the 800 block of East Huntington left his briefcase full of valuables on the floor of the business and walked away briefly. While the man’s attention was away from his briefcase, a male suspect took the case, walked out of the business and drove away with it. Through witness interviews, it was learned that the suspect possibly worked for a local business. The manager of the business was contacted and was able to identify the suspect on video surveillance as one of his employees. The suspect was contacted by phone and immediately returned with the briefcase. He was arrested for the crime and the stolen property was returned to its owner.
Theft From a Vehicle
September 1 at 9:29 a.m., an officer on patrol in the 200 block of West Olive observed an unoccupied, parked vehicle with the front passenger door open. He stopped and ran the license plate number, which returned to an address in the 200 block of West Olive. The officer made contact with the owners of the vehicle. They told the officer they had parked the vehicle the night before and had left it unlocked. The loss from the vehicle was a cell phone charger, a bluetooth headset, and medication. Investigation continuing.
Sierra Madre PD
Monday September 10
Between 6pm and 9pm, unknown suspect(s) entered an apartment in the 500 block of Sturtevant Drive through an unlocked sliding glass door. The suspect(s) ransacked the living room closet and removed 3 pneumatic nail guns that were contained in black nylon bags. The suspect(s) left the apartment through the same sliding glass door leaving behind other items of value. At 10:15 an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Baldwin Avenue and Bonita Avenue. The investigation determined that the drive (69 year old female) had been drinking and she was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
Thursday September 13
At 3:45 am an officer observed a male adult walking in the area Mountain Trail Avenue and Sierra Madre Avenue. The individual was stumbling, losing his balance and appeared to be under the influence. The officer’s investigation revealed that the individual was under the influence of alcohol and was also in possession of Cocaine. The 32 year old male was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Saturday September 15
At 11:45am, non-injury traffic collision occurred when a vehicle stopped northbound on Baldwin waiting to make a left turn onto Bonita Avenue was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle. Driver inattention appeared to be the cause.
