Arcadia Offers Free Supervised Elementary Playgrounds
The Recreation and Community Services Department offers a free drop-in program for youth in grades 1-5. The program runs September 4 through June 7, 2013, Monday – Friday; 2:30-4:30pm for all Arcadia Unified School District Elementary Schools. School year playgrounds offer a variety of organized recreation activities led by Recreation Leaders. Board games, outdoor games and crafts are a few of the activities provided. Staff supervision and activities are only provided until 4:30pm. Playgrounds will be closed on minimum days and holidays. The new attendance policy requires participants to attend the program for a minimum of one hour, at least three days each week. Space is limited and participants must meet the above minimum requirement to remain in the program. Children must be signed out by a parent/adult.
A late fee will be charged for supervision if your child is picked up after 4:30pm. For rainy days please call the Buzzline at 626.574.3880 for information on Playground closures. The Buzzline is updated daily by Noon.
