Sunday, August 26:

Around 1:05 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver Mercedes for failing to stop at a stop sign in the area of Golden West Avenue and Ardendale Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The 50-year-old Asian female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 6:50 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a theft report. Two suspects concealed merchandise inside a bag and exited the store without making payment. The 65-year-old male of unknown race and 59-year-old White female were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, August 27:

At about 9:40 a.m., an officer responded to the 000 block of East Palm Drive regarding a residential burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) entered the home through an unlocked bathroom window while the resident was at work, and fled undetected with a flat screen television. Officers were able to locate a set of fingerprints, and further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.

Around 11:07 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter in regards to a fraud report. The victim explained unknown suspect(s) made unauthorized charges on two of her credit card accounts. She had no idea how her personal information was compromised.

Tuesday, August 28:

At about 5:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a vandalism report. The resident discovered unknown suspect(s) scratched his BMW creating a 360? circle. No one saw or heard anything suspicious.

Shortly after 12:40 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Fairview Avenue regarding a two-party traffic accident. Party-two made an illegal left turn onto westbound Fairview Avenue and was struck by oncoming traffic. An investigation revealed the intersection was under construction, left turn lanes were coved off, and temporary “No Left Turn” signs were posted. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, August 29:

At approximately 8:35 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of Fairview Avenue in reference to a vandalism report. The victim parked his vehicle in a private lot and later discovered two of his tires were slashed. He was unaware of any possible suspects.

At about 9:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration in the area of Colorado Boulevard and Second Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver was never issued a license. The 38-year-old Hispanic male was cited, released in the field, and his vehicle was impounded.

Thursday, August 30:

Around 3:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Magna Vista Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue in reference to a non-injury two-party traffic collision. An investigation revealed one driver fell asleep behind the wheel and swerved into another vehicle. The 29-year-old Hispanic male was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At about 10:30 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Santa Clara Street when he observed a vehicle with a broken tail light. A traffic stop revealed the driver had open containers of alcohol in the center console and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The 56-year-old Black male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Friday, August 31:

At approximately 7:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a suspicious vehicle with no license plates. Officers made contact with the occupants who provided false identifying information; however, a records check revealed each had outstanding warrants. Two Black female adults and one Black male were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 3:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a burglary suspect running through the parking lot. Within minutes, assisting officers detained the subject in the 700 block of South Ranch Road. An investigation revealed the suspect removed his handcuffs while inside the security office, pushed a loss prevention officer, and fled the store. The 18-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Saturday, September 1:

At about 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the 000 block of Warren Way regarding a disturbance inside a vehicle. An investigation revealed an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend resulted in the male striking the female several times in the head, resulting in a bloody nose. The 19-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Shortly after 2:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Linda Way in reference to a report of a fire in a second story bedroom. The Arcadia Fire Department responded to the scene and determined the blaze had already been extinguished by the homeowner. No injuries were reported and investigators were unable to determine the cause of the fire.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
August 20 at 9:48 a.m., police responded to an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Foothill regarding a subject sleeping on private property. Upon arrival, they found a male subject wearing women’s clothing asleep toward the front of the property. When the subject was awakened, he was cooperative. There was a purse in front of him, which he admitted to officers had methamphetamine in it. A verbal consent to search was obtained and a large quantity of used needles and a burnt spoon were recovered. The suspect was arrested.

Rollover Injury Traffic Collision
August 20 at 9:30 p.m., a young man was driving his vehicle eastbound in the 100 block of East Lemon. He was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for the stop sign at Ivy. When his vehicle hit the dip in the intersection, the vehicle went airborne. It landed on the east side of the intersection and the driver lost control of the vehicle, striking a parked car. The vehicle then rolled over several times in the street. The driver received minor injuries and had to be removed from the vehicle by Monrovia Fire Department personnel. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

Vehicle Burglary
August 20 at 6:18 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 700 block of North Canyon. The burglary occurred on August 18 between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The victim left the windows down a few inches for ventilation, and it appears the suspect was able to reach in and unlock the door. A power saw, coins, and keys were stolen. Investigation continuing.

Mail Thefts
August 21, several mail thefts occurred throughout the city during daytime hours. The thefts occurred in the 700 block of Anita, the 900 block of Royal Oaks, the 400 block of North Magnolia, and the 900 block of Norumbega. Some of the mail stolen from Anita and North Magnolia was found in the street at Primrose and Scenic, indicating these cases may be related. A witness to the thefts from Norumbega saw a suspect by the mailboxes at 4:00 p.m. The suspect is described as a male, White, 40’s, very short blond hair, wearing a white tank shirt. The suspect vehicle is described as an older model, teal or dark colored Ford Bronco or Explorer. Investigation continuing.

Friday August 24, 2012
At 2pm, a customer entered the post office at 61 S. Baldwin Avenue to make a transaction. She set her wallet on the counter then walked away for a few moments. Upon return, she discovered the wallet was missing. No one in the post office at the time saw anyone take the wallet.

Sunday August 26, 2012
At 3:34pm a motorcyclist collided with the guard rail at Santa Anita Avenue and Arno Drive. The driver lost control of the vehicle due to a medical condition. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Monday August 27, 2012
Parents brought their uncooperative and combatant juvenile daughter to the police station seeking assistance. During the investigation, officers determined that the juvenile had battered both her mother and a sibling earlier in the day and she was taken into custody. During a search of the juvenile a dagger was found concealed in her sleeve. The juvenile was arrested for Possession of a Dagger and detained at Eastlake Juvenile Facility.

Tuesday August 28, 2012
A traffic collision took place at Sierra Madre Boulevard and Park Avenue when the driver lost control while making a right turn. The vehicle sideswiped two other parked vehicles and pushed one of the parked vehicles into another vehicle.
Alcohol was not a factor.

Wednesday August 29, 2012
At 5:45pm, the Pasadena PD Helicopter was over the area of Chantry Flats and observed a vehicle driving erratically. SMPD officers responded and located the vehicle near Santa Anita Avenue and Elkins. Upon spotting the officers, the four occupants ran from the vehicle but stopped in response to the officer’s commands. It was determined that the driver (a 16 year old male) was under the influence of marijuana. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and released to his parents.

Thursday August 30, 2012
During the evening, unknown suspects vandalized a business in the 100 block West Sierra Madre Boulevard by making a window and electrical box with blue spray paint. Witnesses reported seeing a male walking in between the businesses and entering a black Volkswagen Bug Convertible that had been parked at the curb for a period of time. The case is still under investigation.

Friday August 31, 2012
At 10:30pm, a vehicle was observed speeding in the area of Sierra Madre Boulevard and Sunnyside Avenue. After stopping the vehicle, the officer determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver (44 year old female) was booked for DUI.
