Sunday, August 26
” At 8:07 a.m., Engine 105 responded to smoke in the area of the 100 block of West Colorado Boulevard. Fire crews investigated the area and found smoke coming from the vegetation near the railroad crossing. The source of the smoke was determined to be a transient preparing a meal. The fire was extinguished and the transient was counseled.
Monday, August 27
” At 1:00 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of West Campus Drive. Fire crews evaluated an elderly female experiencing an altered mental status. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and a blood glucose test to determine sugar levels. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, August 28
” At 2:23 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1800 block of Alta Oaks Drive. Fire personnel evaluated a male patient who was suffering from chest pain with shortness of breath. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Wednesday, August 29
” At 10:02 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of Las Tunas Drive. Fire crews evaluated a male patient suffering from chest pain. Paramedics assessed the patient and performed advanced life support measures on scene; including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

” At 11:00 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from an altered mental status. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, blood glucose monitoring, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Friday, August 31
” At 2:43 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of West Duarte Road. Fire crews evaluated a male patient suffering from a possible fractured hip after a trip and fall. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and drug therapy for pain management. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.
Saturday, September 1
” At 2:22 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105 and Battalion 105, with units from Monrovia Fire, were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1400 block of Linda Avenue. On arrival, fire crews reported light smoke coming from a two story single-family residence. An investigation revealed that the occupant of the structure had extinguished a fire in an upstairs bedroom prior to fire department arrival. Engine 105 checked for fire extension utilizing a thermal imaging camera. Truck 105 provided positive pressure ventilation to remove the smoke from the structure and overhaul.

Saturday, September 1 (cont’d)
Rescue Ambulance 105 assessed the occupant who had extinguished the fire for any injuries. The occupant experienced no injuries and refused any treatment or transport. Fire personnel determined the ignition was accidental. The residence sustained $3,000 in damage to the structure and $3,000.00 to the contents due to heat and smoke from the fire. Fire crews released the structure to the occupant at 3:18 p.m.
