

Assemblymember Anothony Portantino on Tuesday said, “Today’s action underscores the tremendous growing wind against the 710 freeway and tunnel. Neighborhood activists from all over the San Gabriel Valley have united to oppose this project. There have been more than enough legitimate public policy concerns raised about the viability of the 710 tunnel and the Los Angeles City Council stepped up and unanimously said NO Tunnel. It’s now time for Caltrans, the MTA and the California Transportation Commission to stop spending our limited tax dollars on a project that doesn’t solve a problem and would adversely affect many of our neighborhoods.”
