The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Temple Station is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the cities of Bradbury, Duarte, Rosemead, South El Monte and Temple City, as well as the unincorporated county communities of South San Gabriel, El Monte, Monrovia, Arcadia, Duarte (M.A.D.), East Pasadena, and North San Gabriel. Below you will find a summary of the reported crimes during the month of July for each of the above listed communities.
During the past month, the statistics indicated a slight increase in theft related crimes within several of our communities. No particular trend or pattern was identified, but residential and commercial burglaries were up slightly, while auto thefts declined in all but one area. I encourage the community to remain vigilant and continue to report suspicious behavior and/or activities while out shopping or spending time at home. The information you provide to us is extremely helpful in thwarting illegal activity and apprehending criminals.
The hot summer weather has caused many of us to open windows and doors in our homes and businesses. While it provides some relief from the heat, pleasedo not forget to lock those doors and windows when leaving, so as not to make your home or business an easy target for thieves.
As stated last month, if you are contacted by anyone who asks to enter your residence to conduct an inspection, request to see official identification. If they refuse or do not have legitimate credentials identifying them as a reputable utility company or agency, please call Temple Station immediately. Please continue to monitor your neighborhood for suspicious vehicles or persons walking door to door. If it seems suspicious, do not hesitate to telephone Temple Station and ask for a patrol unit to respond. It would be advantageous to report the activity immediately and provide the best possible description. It will aid in our ability to intercept the person or vehicle before they have the chance to leave the area.
Vehicle theftsremain an area for concern. Car thieves continue to target Honda cars within the model years of 1998 through 2006. Please remember to lock and secure your vehicle and take all valuables with you. Do not leave laptop computers and navigational equipment in the open.
Temple Sheriff’s Station’s partnership with community members is our strongest asset in the fight against crime. Please remain vigilant, and if you see something or someone suspicious, call Temple Station at (626) 285-7171 or in cases of emergency, dial 911.
