Special Appearance by Project Runway All-Star Mondo Guerra

California Assemblymember Anthony Portantino and City of Hope are teaming up with fashion designer and HIV activist Mondo Guerra for the Sixth Annual HIV/AIDS Action Summit on September 12.
Mondo Guerra is a national spokesperson for HIV awareness and will discuss his experience living with the disease. He was this year’s winner of Project Runway All-Stars and has recently partnered with Merck to launch I Design – a new HIV educational campaign.
For six years, Assemblymember Portantino and City of Hope have brought together experts and activists from across the nation to take part in the discussion about vital issues concerning the prevention, treatment and cure of HIV and AIDS.
“The San Gabriel Valley HIV/AIDS Action Summit raises awareness about HIV and AIDS and efforts to prevent new infections and keep HIV- positive patients healthy. And this year we are especially pleased to have Mondo Guerra talk about getting young people involved in the fight against AIDS,” commented Portantino.
Date: Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Time: 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Media check-in and registration 8:30 a.m.) Place: City of Hope, Cooper Auditorium, 1500 E. Duarte Rd., Duarte, CA 91010
