Arcadia PD
Sunday, July 22:
Shortly after 7:00 a.m., two commercial burglaries were reported to have occurred overnight to businesses on West Las Tunas Drive; one in the 00 block and the other in the 500 block. Suspect(s) broke glass on the front doors to each business, made entry, and stole money from the cash registers. Although the business locations are not related, based on the circumstances, the crimes appear to have been carried out by the same suspect(s).
At approximately 10:00 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred at Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue. After making an unsafe left turn and causing the collision, one of the drivers fled the scene and sped off. The driver lost control and became involved in a second collision, striking a light pole at Huntington Drive and First Avenue. Officers contacted the female driver and found her to be driving under the influence of alcohol. A 23-year-old Hispanic female was arrested and booked at the Arcadia City Jail on charges of DUI and hit & run.
Monday, July 23:
At about 7:15 a.m., officers were called to an apartment complex located in the 800 block Fairview Avenue after a male suspect attempted to break into the coin box on a washing machine. The male was interrupted while trying to pry the coin box open. A witness blocked the suspect’s car and would not allow him to leave. Officers arrived and arrested a 33-year-old Caucasian male, along with a 21-year-old Hispanic female accomplice. Both were booked on felony charges at the Arcadia City Jail.
A burglary to a construction site located in the 600 block East Live Oak Avenue was reported at about 9:15 a.m. The site supervisor found the gate lock cut and several table saws, along with an electrical box, removed from the location. The incident occurred overnight.
Tuesday, July 24:
Around 1:19 a.m., a male subject made his way into an open business located in the 100 block of East Huntington Drive. The male was disrupting the business, causing a disturbance, and left without paying for a cup of coffee. Officers detained the male and found him to be intoxicated. A 53-year-old Caucasian male was arrested for being drunk in public was booked at the Arcadia City Jail.
Sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., a vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 1300 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Suspect(s) punched the door locks and opened the vehicle, removing $20.00 in cash.
Wednesday, July 25:
Around 4:00 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation, tinted windows, on First Avenue near Colorado Boulevard. The driver was found to be unlicensed and to have had multiple previous license suspensions. The driver, a 22-year-old Asian male, was issued a misdemeanor citation in the field.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers responded to the Sport Chalet at the Westfield Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft suspect being detained. The male suspect had taken a pair of gloves from the store without paying and was detained by loss prevention agents. The male was found to be in possession of other stolen clothing, as well as narcotics paraphernalia. A 25-year-old Asian male was arrested on misdemeanor charges and booked at the Arcadia City Jail.
Thursday, July 26:
At approximately 12:23 p.m., an officer was called to Cotton On, a business at the Westfield Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a female employee being detained for theft. Store loss prevention agents had detained the female after taking multiple items of clothing from the store. During their interview, the employee admitted to additional thefts as well. A 19-year-old Hispanic female was arrested for commercial burglary and booked at the Arcadia City Jail.
Around 3:15 p.m., a vehicle vandalism was reported to have occurred in the parking lot of Arcadia High School, 180 Campus Drive. The student parked his vehicle at the location at about 7:45 a.m., returning to the car at about 1:25 p.m. Suspect(s) had scratched the sides, doors, and hood of the car, causing extensive damage. The victim did not know who caused the damage.
Friday, July 27:
At about 7:27 a.m., an officer was alerted to a felony wanted vehicle being driven on Baldwin Avenue near Huntington Drive. The alert was from the automated license plate reader in the patrol unit. The officer conducted a stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of 400 S Baldwin Avenue and detained the driver. The driver was the named subject in the felony want out of San Bernardino County. The suspect was arrested and later released to San Bernardino County Sheriffs.
A burglary to a laundry room coin box located in the 900 block of W Duarte Road was reported at about 9:15 a.m. The property manager found a washing machine and coin box in the laundry room broken and the change from the coin box removed. The incident occurred overnight.
Saturday, July 28:
At approximately 3:10 P.M., the victim of an auto burglary reported their vehicle had been broken into while parked in the parking structure of 410 E Huntington Drive. The crime occurred between 9:50 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Suspect(s) made entry by smashing the driver’s side rear window and removed two bags containing clothing.
Shortly after 11:11 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of E Santa Clara Street regarding a dumpster fire. Officers assisted the fire department as they extinguished the fire. Arcadia Fire Department personnel were unable to determine the origin of the fire.

Grand Theft Auto
July 16 at 1:35 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1800 block of South Mountain. The victim parked her car on the street at 9:00 a.m., and when she returned to the car at about 12:00 p.m., she found it had been stolen. The vehicle is a green, 2000 Honda Civic. Investigation continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
July 16 at 2:56 p.m., the victim of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 900 block of Monterey came to the police station to file a report. The victim parked his 2007 Chrysler 300 in his carport and locked the vehicle. When he returned to the car in the morning, the trunk was slightly open and his driver-side door was unlocked. The center console had been ransacked and a gym bag was stolen that contained his wedding band and his keys. The investigation is ongoing.
Robbery
July 16 at 6:55 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 300 block of West Huntington on the report of a robbery. The store owner observed a male suspect leaving the store without paying for merchandise he was carrying. When she approached him, the suspect pushed her aside. Her husband then grabbed the suspect by his shirt and was punched by the suspect. The suspect ran out of the location to a waiting vehicle that was driven by another male suspect. They fled in the vehicle southbound on Magnolia.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 25-30 years old, 5’10”, heavyset with a mustache, wearing a black baseball hat, gray Dodgers shirt, and black and white plaid shorts. The suspect vehicle is a newer-model, four-door, gray Nissan with Carmax paper plates. Investigation continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
July 17 at 6:47 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 200 block of West Cypress. The victim parked his white, 2003 Chevy Silverado around midnight and locked it. He returned to the vehicle at 6:30 a.m. the next morning and found his truck had been stolen. He did not hear or see anything unusual. Investigation continuing.
Residential Burglary
July 17 at 7:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of West Colorado regarding a residential burglary. The burglary occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. on July 16 and 6:30 p.m. on July 17. The suspect(s) entered through an unlocked rear sliding glass door. Three laptop computers, an iPad, and two cameras were stolen. Investigation continuing.
Possessing Stolen Property / Resisting Arrest – Suspect Arrested
July 18 at 2:16 a.m., an officer on patrol saw a male subject riding a bicycle while pulling another bike through a parking lot at Myrtle and Foothill. When the subject saw the officer approaching, he immediately dropped both bikes and ran westbound, towards Primrose. The suspect evaded officers for a short time, but was eventually detained.
The suspect told the officer he had just stolen both bicycles; however, when he offered to show the officers where he had taken them from, no victims could be located. The suspect was arrested for suspicion of possessing stolen property and resisting arrest. Police will attempt to locate the victims.
Suspicious Persons / Grand Theft Auto – Suspects Arrested
July 18 at 5:22 p.m., a caller reported two suspicious persons in the 600 block of West Foothill. The reporting party stated that a male and female subject had been sitting in a vehicle with collision damage for over half an hour and the caller did not recognize them. Officers responded and were informed by dispatch while on their way to the location that the vehicle was reported stolen to the Ontario Police Department. Officers arrived and detained the male and female suspects.
The male suspect detained in the driver’s seat is a known gang member. Both suspects were determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and a pipe used to smoke controlled substances was found. The suspects were arrested.
Vehicle Burglaries
July 18 at 9:32 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of West Huntington regarding two vehicle burglaries that occurred in a business parking lot. The two vehicles were parked near each other. The suspect(s) smashed a window on each vehicle and stole laptop computers from the vehicles. Investigation continuing.
Vehicle Burglary / Fraud
July 19 at 10:10 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of West Foothill. Sometime between 5:00 p.m. on July 18 and 10:00 a.m. on July 19, suspect(s) used an unknown object to break the front passenger window, reach in and remove the victim’s purse from the front seat. The suspect(s) attempted to use the victim’s credit cards that were in the purse at several locations in town and made an online purchase. Investigation continuing.
Domestic Violence
July 19 at 1:06 p.m., officers responded to the report of domestic violence in progress in the 100 block of Melrose. The female victim and her boyfriend were arguing, and the argument led to the male striking the female on the forehead and on the right side of her torso. The male subject left the location prior to officers arriving. The female complained of pain to her right side. She was checked by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics and taken to a local hospital. A wanted person entry was completed for the suspect. Investigation continuing.

Sierra Madre PD
Monday July 23, 2012
At approximately 4:45 pm, a 33 year old male entered the Post Office at 65 S. Baldwin Avenue and attempted to purchase $240.00 worth of stamps with a fraudulent check. The postal employee recognized the suspect from a Grand Theft and Burglary crime bulletin that had recently been circulated. The police were notified and the suspect was apprehended as he exited the Post Office. He was subsequently booked for Burglary and Possession of a Fraudulent Check.
Wednesday July 25, 2012
At 7:45 pm officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at the Sierra Madre Middle School Upper Campus at 160 N. Canon. On arrival, the officers observed a white bag containing school supplies on the ground outside one of the classroom bungalows. Moments later two individuals were observed running between buildings and taken into custody without incident. The investigation determined that these individuals had entered the bungalow through an unsecured window and removed school supplies from several cabinets. Two juveniles, 14 and 15 years of age, were arrested for Burglary and released to their parents.
Friday July 27, 2012
At 8:20 am, officers conducted a traffic stop at Santa Anita Avenue and Grandview Avenue. While interviewing the driver, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted that he had marijuana in his backpack. The officer subsequently recovered 1.4 grams of concentrated cannabis (Hash) from the backpack and arrested the driver for possession of the item. One of the passengers was also arrested on a $30,000.00 warrant issued by South Gate Police Department.
Saturday July 28, 2012
At 9 am, officers conducting a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Michillinda Avenue discovered that the driver was in possession of 1.1 grams of Methamphetamine. The 34 year old female driver was booked for possession of a controlled substance.
