Sunday, July 8:
Around 8:38 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the area of Duarte Road and El Monte Avenue. The officer discovered the driver was never issued a license. The 34-year-old Hispanic male was cited, released in the field, and his vehicle was stored.
At approximately 2:20 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. A female suspect concealed merchandise inside a used shopping bag and exited the store without making payment. The 59-year-old Chinese female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, July 9:
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a battery report. An adult female concealed merchandise inside her purse and exited the store without making payment. When the loss prevention agent attempted to detain the suspect in the parking lot, the suspect’s husband approached from behind and punched the loss prevention agent in the head. Both suspects fled on foot; however, they were later detained by assisting Detectives in the 500 block of Huntington Drive. The 29-year-old Hispanic female and 34-year-old Hispanic male were arrested on robbery charges and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 4:10 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Whispering Oaks Drive regarding a burglary report. The victim discovered unknown suspect(s) forced entry through the front door, ransacked the bedrooms, and stole three handguns. No suspects or witnesses were located.
Tuesday, July 10:
Around 12:28 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Toyota Celica for making an illegal turn in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Fairview Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver provided false information, was never issued a license, and was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The 29-year-old Hispanic female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 2:52 p.m., an officer responded to a two-party traffic collision at the intersection of Huntington Drive and Centennial Way. One driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic as he attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Huntington Drive. The driver at fault turned directly in front of the other driver as she entered the intersection. No injuries were reported.
Wednesday, July 11:
Around 11:45 a.m., a 19-year-old Hispanic female was detained for theft by loss prevention personnel at Nordstom, Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue. Officers learned the female concealed numerous items in a shopping bag, hanging on her baby’s stroller, and left the store without paying for the items. The female is alleged to have committed several additional thefts and fraudulent returns at other area Nordstom locations. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking on charges of commercial burglary. The suspect’s 2-year-old daughter was released to a responsible party and the Department of Children and Family Services was notified for follow-up evaluation.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., the victim of a hit & run collision came to the police station to file a report. The victim had been parked in a business parking lot located at 650 West Duarte Road. A witness saw a silver Toyota Camry strike the victim’s car while parked in the lot. The driver of the car failed to leave notification and left the scene. He was described as an Asian male, approximately 55-65 years old. The license plate on the Toyota was similar to 6UVX261 CA.
Thursday, July 12:
At approximately 6:41 p.m., a resident who lives in the 500 block of West Duarte Road came to the police station to file a fraud report. The victim received a collections notice for an overdue credit account exceeding $9,000.00. The victim contacted the company and learned an unknown suspect had used his address and personal information to open a fraudulent account. The victim will not suffer a financial loss, but is the victim of identity theft.
Around 9:07 p.m., an officer accepted a fraud report via the police department online reporting portal from a victim who lives in Tehachapi, CA. The victim stated unknown suspects used a fraudulent credit card to purchase goods and services on two occasions at the KKTV Lounge, 612 East Live Oak Avenue. The total charged was over $1,800.00 during two uses of the credit card number.
Friday, July 13:
At about 2:01 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Huntington Drive at Holly Avenue. The female driver was contacted and the officer smelled odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. The officer also saw an open container inside the car. The 25-year-old Caucasian female was found to be under the influence of alcohol, was arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 8:00 a.m., an officer responded to a carport in the 900 block of Arcadia Avenue on report of a vehicle burglary. Sometime overnight, suspect(s) smashed a side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a handbag and some clothing. In addition to the vehicle damage, the loss totaled about $10.00.
Saturday, July 14:
Officers stopped a vehicle on Santa Clara Street at Fifth Avenue, at about 3:27 p.m., after discovering there was a traffic warrant associated to the vehicle license plate. The female driver had no identification and provided a name to the officer. Using a “Bluecheck” device to scan the female’s thumb print, her true name, birth date, and photo were revealed to the officer in the field. The 25-year-old Caucasian female was arrested on three outstanding warrants and for providing false information. She was booked at the Arcadia City Jail.
At about 10:20 p.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of Cambridge Drive on report of a vehicle burglary. The victim discovered a side window had been smashed out on their SUV sometime between 6:30-10:00 p.m. by unknown suspect(s). The loss from the vehicle was unknown at time of report.

Battery – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 4:44 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of West Huntington regarding a battery incident. A male adult subject walked past a female adult subject and intentionally brushed his hand on her buttocks. The woman immediately called police, who responded and located the suspect. Video surveillance of the business shows the suspect intentionally touch the victim. He was arrested, booked and released on citation for misdemeanor battery.
Vandalism
July 10 at 5:18 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 400 block of West Walnut. Suspect(s) smashed two windows on a car, which was parked off an alley. The windows of the vehicle were smashed, but there was no loss of property. The female victim does not know why anyone would have vandalized her property. Investigation continuing.
Petty Theft / Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 11:52 p.m., employees at a business in the 100 block of East Olive called police and reported that a suspect had just stolen a purse and ran out the door. Two employees chased the suspect west on Olive and then south on Myrtle, where they detained him. Officers arrived and arrested the suspect for petty theft of a purse and being drunk in public.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Vandalism – Suspect Arrested
July 11 at 7:06 a.m., dispatch received a call from a business in the 100 block of West Foothill reporting a male suspect attempting to assault a security guard. Officers arrived and detained a male suspect who was holding a large wooden post in his hands. The suspect refused to stop skateboarding in front of the business, where people were walking, and made threats to return and harm the security guard after he was told to leave the premises. The suspect then walked to a city park, broke off a wooden tree support post and returned to confront the security guard. He made attempts to intimidate the security guard by acting like he was going to strike him with the post. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
July 11 at 7:19 a.m., officers responded to the 800 block of West Olive regarding a subject who was acting odd and hearing voices. Officers detained a known subject who has a history of drug use. He was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. His family stated he had been up for most of the week.
