LA Lawyers raise over $445,000 for Food Bank!

The Los Angeles legal community once again joined efforts in the fight against hunger with the 4th Annual Food From The Bar Campaign benefitting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This year, the four-week long campaign which took place from April 30th through May 25th raised over $445,000-the largest amount since the campaign’s inception in 2009.
For the fourth consecutive year, Food From The Bar invited the Los Angeles legal community to partake in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most food, funds and donate the highest number of volunteer hours. The objective of the campaign is to raise much needed food and funds for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which provides food to over 1 million children, seniors and families experiencing hunger throughout Los Angeles County.
In addition to the funds, 78 law firms and other groups in the legal community contributed more than 2,100 volunteer hours to help sort and repackage food for distribution and donated over 17,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank.
“We are extremely grateful for the support and commitment received from the Los Angeles legal community”, said Michael Flood, President/CEO of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. “Funds received from this campaign will help support our children’s programs providing them with meals over the summer break when many children don’t have access to the federal breakfast and lunch programs.”
For the 2012 Campaign, honors were to the following participants:
