Gundry announced that Lorena Martinez will be the new principal at Eliot Middle School and Rodolfo Ramirez, Jr. will be the new principal at San Rafael Elementary School. Superintendent Gundry made the announcement at the PUSD Board of Education meeting Tuesday, June 26.
“We are fortunate to have such capable and successful educators such as Ms. Martinez and Mr. Ramirez ready to step into these important positions,” said Superintendent Jon Gundry. “Their wide range of experience resulting in accelerated academic achievement will serve the Eliot and San Rafael school communities well. Strong leadership is the foundation of a high-performing school.”
The selection process included panel interviews with teachers, parents and staff to be sensitive to the needs of each individual school community. Both Ms. Martinez and Mr. Ramirez are fluent in English and Spanish. They will assume their duties at PUSD July 1, 2012.
