Pasadena Fire to Apply Fire Retardent Around Rose Bowl June 27

The Pasadena Fire Department will be spraying Phos-Chek, a wild land fire retardant to brush areas surrounding the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, June 27.
The Phos-Chek retardant helps keep trees and grassland from burning. The main ingredients are phosphates and fertilizers which help revegetate burn areas after a fire is out. Fire retardant like Phos-Chek is one of the main tools firefighters use as a preventive measure and to help contain growing fires in untreated areas.
The Pasadena Fire Department takes this proactive approach annually to mitigate potential hazards during the Fourth of July weekend and into the summer season.
