The Monrovia Public Library is sponsoring summer reading programs for all ages. Children from birth through grade 5 will participate in a two different levels of Dream Big…Read. The program for students in Middle School and High School is called Own the Night, while the adult reading program is called Between the Covers.
There will be appropriate prizes for reading at the various levels. For full details and to enroll in any of the programs, check the library’s website at: www.monroviapubliclibrary.org
The reading club for the youngest participants, those who are listening rather than reading themselves (ages birth through 2 years), is designed for parents and caregivers to read to babies and toddlers. The program for preschool and elementary school students has them reading books and answering simple questions about the books.
The “Own the Night” programs for Middle and High School students follows the same procedure with the students checking out books and recording their progress on line by answering questions about those books.
The adult reading program is designed to promote and encourage leisure reading. There are even prizes for adults.
The programs will run through Saturday, August 3. A celebration to reward all the summer readers will be held on August 9.
