Postal Worker in the Pasadena area are asking local churches to pray for them in worship services Sunday , next Sunday and throughout the week in your personal prayer time.
The Postmaster General has announced August 11, 2012 for the closing date of the Mack Robinson Postal Processing Plant on Lincoln in Pasadena.
Rep. Schiff has been a vocal opponent of the pending closure.
Many workers received the notice of reassignment within the last week or so. Many are being transferred but where is not known. These assignments will last 180 days and they may be reassigned anywhere after that disrupting their families and our community. The closing of this facility could seriously impact the quality of mail services in Pasadena.

USPS openly admitted that Los Angeles P&DC can’t not accommodate all clerks, mail handlers
or maintenance employees and in the process of looking for any available vacancies and
most likely will involuntary assign these employees to be carriers.

However many of these employees are “ill suited to be carriers, either because of advanced age, restrictions, driving records.” according to Kerry Wolny USPS Sierra Coastal District Manager,
.
“These actions are putting these employees at a great risk of getting injured on the job and
therefore being counterproductive because of the high cost to care for these injured employees.”

There was a meeting held at NAACP offices Wednesday and we will bring you more details as they become available.
