Sunday, May 27:
At approximately 1:51 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry for speeding in the area of Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue. Upon contact with the driver, the officer smelt an odor of alcohol emitting from his breath and person. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence and was never issued a license. The 20-year-old Vietnamese male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 5:23 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a male adult in custody for theft. The suspect grabbed two watches and exited the store without making payment. An investigation revealed he was also in possession of stolen property. The 22-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, May 28:
At about 3:23 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a traffic collision on Baldwin Avenue, north of Huntington Drive, where a vehicle had veered into the center median and hit a City light pole. The driver was transported to the Arcadia Methodist Hospital and treated for neck pain. An investigation revealed the driver lost control of his vehicle, possibly due to falling asleep. Sobriety tests revealed alcohol was not a factor.
Shortly after 7:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Honda Civic in Gate 10 of the Santa Anita Mall, near Baldwin Avenue. Dispatch advised mall security saw the occupants drinking and driving in the parking lot with an infant unrestrained inside the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, the officers observed an infant sitting on the female passenger’s lap. An investigation revealed the female was breastfeeding the infant while drinking and at one point, held a beer bottle against the infant’s lips. The Hispanic driver and passenger, 28 and 29-years-old respectively, were arrested for DUI and Child Endangerment. During the booking process, officers discovered the passenger had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and the driver’s license was expired. Their 7-month-old son was released to a family member and the case was forwarded to the Department of Child and Family Services for further investigation.
Tuesday, May 29:
Around 9:56 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia High School, 180 Campus Drive, in reference to a student detained for possessing a knife on campus. The 18-year-old Asian male explained he carried the weapon in case he needed to defend himself. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to Faschings Car Wash, 425 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a theft of service. Workers finished detailing a vehicle and released the keys to the owner after directing him to make payment at the Cashier’s Desk. The subject entered the vehicle, a 2007 Ford Expedition with Arkansas license plates, and drove off southbound on Santa Anita Avenue without making payment. He is described as a White male, approximately 40-years-old, 5’11” tall, 165 lbs., with curly brown hair and a goatee, wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans.
Wednesday, May 30:
At about 8:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck for expired registration, in the area of First Avenue and Haven Avenue. One of the passengers gave the officer a false name; however, a warrant check revealed she had an outstanding felony no bail warrant and a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. The 31-year-old White female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., officers made consensual contact with a subject standing in the middle of Huntington Drive, west of Santa Anita Avenue. A records check revealed a felony no bail warrant and a $30,000 warrant for his arrest. The 23-year-old White male was placed on a parole hold for pick-up by the California Department of Corrections.
Thursday, May 31:
Shortly after 6:45 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a driver for not wearing his seat belt, on Chestnut Avenue at Fifth Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia and had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The 32-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 1:48 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a fraud investigation. Loss prevention personnel discovered a female subject entered the store on May 14th and charged approximately $2,600 on a victim’s Nordstrom credit account using a fraudulent license. An investigation revealed three other suspects later returned the merchandise for cash refunds at various Nordstrom locations. The suspect has been identified and further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.
Friday, June 1:
At approximately 5:00 p.m., an officer responded to a two-party traffic collision at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and the eastbound 210 freeway off-ramp. The Arcadia Fire Department transported both drivers and two passengers to Huntington Memorial Hospital for head, neck, and back pain. An investigation revealed party-one stopped for the red light as she exited the Baldwin Avenue off-ramp. When the light turned green, she made a left turn onto northbound Baldwin Avenue when she was struck by party-two in the intersection. The officer determined party-two failed to stop at the red signal.
Around 6:24 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Sephora at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a theft report. A female suspect exited the store without paying for merchandise she concealed inside a used shopping bag. The 31-year-old Hispanic female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, June 2:
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. A female suspect removed two shirts off their hangers and asked to exchange the items for a cash refund since she did not have a receipt. After the cashier completed the transaction, the suspect exited the store and was contacted by a loss prevention officer. An investigation revealed the suspect also stole from Macy’s. The 49-year-old Asian female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 12:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 000 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a battery in progress. Officers arrived at the scene and observed two females attempting to restrain an irate male subject. After the male subject aggressively approached officers and declined to follow orders, he was tased and arrested. An investigation revealed the 35-year-old Hispanic male became belligerent after drinking, threatened to kill his neighbors, assaulted his brother with a deadly weapon, battered his wife, and caused damage to property. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Domestic Battery
May 28 at 9:21 a.m., a caller reported a male subject assaulting a female subject in the area of Madison and Colorado. Officers arrived and spoke to both subjects. Through investigation it was learned that the male subject is the ex-boyfriend of the female and he was forcefully pushing her to walk with him to the store. She was resisting him, so he clamped his hand on the back of her neck and pulled her hair, trying to force her to walk with him. The victim was not injured, but does desire prosecution. An Emergency Protective Order was issued and served.
Residential Burglary
May 28 at 1:20 p.m., police responded to the report of a residential burglary in the 100 block of Spanner Street. A female Hispanic suspect, approximately 50 years old, approached the front door of the residence, which is occupied by two elderly women and one of the women’s daughters. Only one of the women was home at the time and her daughter was sleeping in her room. The suspect spoke to the resident and told her she had purchased the property behind the victim’s house and there was a tree problem that she wanted to show her. The suspect and the victim walked to the rear of the property. As they did so, the suspect was on the phone the entire time. Once the suspect left, the victim went back inside her home and found it ransacked and her wallet, cash and jewelry were taken. The victim observed a dark colored, 4-door vehicle in front of the house during this incident. Investigation continuing.
