“DON’T LET DRUG USE PUT AN END TO YOUR DREAMS”
The City of Rosemead Public Safety CONNECTIONS Forum is hosting a Drug Awareness and Prevention workshop to address “Drugs Use and Broken Dreams” on Thursday, June 7, 6 – 9 p.m. at Rosemead High School, 9063 Mission Drive.
Drugs are in our communities, in our schools, and are more available to our youth than ever. Your child does not have to use drugs or alcohol to be impacted by substance abuse. Their classmates are using and their friends might be using – they can be robbed, manipulated, lied to, and hurt without ever using drugs themselves. Everyone is affected, and prevention starts with education.
This workshop is free and open to the public. Parents, grandparents, guardians, and 6th – 12th grade students are encouraged to attend and learn about:
” Peer pressure
” Drug Identification and Recognition
” Warning signs of drug use
” Physical and Psychological effects of drug use
” Legal Consequences
” Available Community Resources
” The real-life experiences of former drug users
Prior to the meeting, Rosemead High School staff and students will be serving free hot dogs beginning at 6:00 p.m. In addition, there will be information booths.

6:00 p.m. – Free hot dogs (while supplies last) and Information Booths

7:15 – Breakout Sessions
