Pasadena Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Images of Pasadena photo contest. The winner’s photo will become the cover of the Chamber’s annual Business Directory and Community Guide for 2013.

“The Chamber photo contest is a great way for us to celebrate local talent while involving the community in the creation of our Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Business Directory and Community Guide,” said Chamber CEO and President Paul Little. “There are a lot of talented people in the greater Pasadena area and we have always been fortunate to have terrific entries each year.”

The Directory and Community Guide is published annually by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. It includes information on every Chamber member with contact information and serves as a business directory that can assist consumers in finding services and goods from reputable companies. The publication contains information about the Pasadena community, including our historic, cultural, entertainment, education and recreation opportunities available in the greater Pasadena area. The Community Guide section serves as a visitors’ guide and is distributed to those interested in relocating, doing business or visiting Pasadena. The Community Guide is also available at locations throughout the Pasadena.

Anyone wanting to submit photos for the Images of Pasadena contest can submit photos they feel represent some special or unique aspect of Pasadena. There are no limitations on subject matter or content. Recent images used have depicted an evening in Old Pasadena, the Vista del Arroyo/9th Circuit Court of Appeals as seen through the span of the Colorado Street Bridge, Beckman Auditorium at Caltech, Castle Green and the fountain in front of the Pasadena power plant.

Entry photos must be submitted electronically in print quality format. Entrants may submit more than one photo, but each must be listed on the entry form and accompanied by the photo release. Entrants need not be members of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.

The grand prize winner will receive a gift certificate good for dinner at a top local restaurant, appropriate photo credit, copies of the final publication, and recognition at the release of the Directory. Photographers whose work is used in the publication will receive appropriate photo credit, copies of the publication and recognition at the release event.

Anyone wanting more information can call the Chamber office at (626) 795-3355, or email paul@pasadena-chamber.org. Deadline for entries is Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Entries should be submitted in electronic format, 300 dpi photos in either tif or jpeg format at least 3 mb, on a CD disk to: Photo Contest, Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, 844 East Green Street, Suite 208, Pasadena CA 91101. Entries must be accompanied by an entry form and standard photo release, each of which is available for download on the Chamber of Commerce website at www.pasadena-chamber.org. Rules and additional entry information are available on the web site, as well.
