The Jazzy Jam All Star Band added Donna Summer to the on-stage tribute to Whitney Houston, Teena Maria and Vesta. The 75-minute performance features solo pieces from members of the all-star band and concludes with a well-planned, well-rehearsed dynamic musical tribute. Music Director Donn Wyatt says, “This band is unique because of each band member’s personal relationships with the Artists! Our band and lead vocals look forward to honoring the sounds Vesta William’s “Once Bitten Twice Shy”, “Sweet Sweet Love”, and “Congratulations”; Teena Marie’s “Déjà Vu”, “Portuguese Say Love” and Lover Girl”; and Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love for You”, “I’m Every Woman”, “I Will Always Love You”.
Jazzy Jam Pasadena’s social media campaign is surveying fans for their favorite Donna Summer’s song and the band will surprise the audience from their picks. Southern California residents and celebrities, vendors and local business along with Pasadena’s Chamber of Commerce look forward each year to Jazzy Jam Pasadena. “Jazz concerts in Central Park have been a valued community activity in Pasadena for many years. Music events in our downtown are a huge boost to the local retail and restaurant community and help polish Pasadena’s reputation as a cultural destination.
Jazzy Jam is bringing the tradition back to Central Park with this family-valued event (children 13 and under are free) that I certainly hope grows in popularity. At the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce we are very pleased to support the efforts to grow Jazzy Jam into a true citywide cultural and music event,” said Paul Little, President and CEO of Pasadena’s Chamber of Commerce.
