Presentation Honors Cancer Patients on Valentine’s Day
Love Notes From Around the World is a joint effort between Huntington Hospital and the American Cancer Society (ACS) Southern California Chinese Relay for Life. Together these organizations made Valentine’s Day a bit more festive for cancer patients, survivors and their families through the Love Notes program. Founded by cancer survivor Vivian Chan in 2011, Love Notes encourages local school children and community members to write heartfelt notes of encouragement to hospitalized cancer patients. School representatives delivered the notes to Huntington Hospital on Valentine’s Day. This year, guests from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong also brought notes notes and well-wishes from Chinese students as well.
Representatives from Huntington Hospital Cancer Center, the American Cancer Society Southern California Chinese Relay for Life (Vivian Chan), local high school students (including San Marino, Temple City, Arcadia and Arroyo high schools) and distinguished guests from China gathered for the Love Notes presentation in the hospital’s north courtyard.
