The spring musical OKLAHOMA is probably the last performance to take place in the little theatre. The construction of the new theatre is on schedule and baring unforeseen circumstances should be open in time for the Fall Theatre Production.
In order to expand from 250 seats a night to 1200 seats a night it takes planning well in advance as well as forming partnerships. For example, Rose Hills formed a partnership with the Theatre Department and enabled the very first banner across Duarte Street last November.
In addition they are printing posters for the community as well as providing water for the cast and audience and also purchasing group tickets for their employees to enjoy the show.
Rose Hills is the Theatre’s first partner and the relationship is growing. Discussions of a street festival are now starting and that would probably take place in the Fall.
Denny’s is the theatre’s second partner. They are selling tickets for OKLAHOMA 24 hours a day every day until the tickets are sold out. A unique feature of the tickets is that each ticket stub is worth $5 on any order of $15 or more at Denny’s. That means that a student or senior citizen could purchase a $10 ticket for the show and then save half the cost of the ticket by using the stub for a meal at Denny’s. Denny’s is also putting up posters and handing out postcards to promote the play to their customers! – see attached
Dalvina Cookies has made it possible for flyers to be passed out at all the senior’ centers and all senior living facilities in Arcadia, Pasadena, Monrovia, Duarte and Bradbury. In addition Dalvina has made it possible for posters to be posted at many local business establishments as was done for the last production however this spring the list of participating businesses is more than double the number we had in the Fall. Some of the business participating are Ralphs, Albertsons, Fresh and Easy, Faschings Car Wash and as well as others
