Occupy Democracy in Pasadena plans a Friday protest at the Pasadena courthouse and a Saturday event at AT&T as part of the Occupy movement’s continuing demonstrations against corrupt corporations.
The protests, slated for 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, come around the two-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court case Citizen’s United vs. Federal Elections Commission, a free speech ruling that allowed corporations unlimited spending in political campaigns.
An email from Occupy Democracy states that Friday’s message is “money is not speech, and human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.”
On Saturday demonstrators plan to rally at the AT&T building on East Colorado Boulevard.
