Mind The Gap…New Band Emerges in Los Angeles
Mind the Gap is the newest emerging band to the Los Angeles area. A unique and eccentric musical group would be just two words to describe this band of four. Made up of “A Korean, a Sri Lankan, A Mexican, and a Jew from Cleveland”, Mind the Gap is a set of amazing acoustic harmonies fused with cutting-edge modern technological sound.
Mind the Gap formed in 2008 when singer/songwriter duo Cahn & Yang met music producers Ru & Ozzy of The Bird Call. They quickly began working on an album and discovered a unique sound. With singer/songwriter grass roots combined with an acoustic rock sound, then partnered with funky electronic rhythms and beat, their live performances and debut CD are unlike anything out there. Lead singer Cahn delivers a powerful voice that only adds wonderfully to the bands unique sounds and beats. They were recently commissioned to write theme songs for TV shows on Discovery, A&E, History, VH1 and Playboy TV, expect to be hearing a lot more of them in the near future.
Their full- length debut The Good Fight released in August 2011 is getting rave reviews and is available exclusively on iTunes.com. The band will celebrate with a string of appearances highlighted by a Monday night residency this month at The Bootleg Theater (2220 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles). Set time is 10:30PM and performances are entirely FREE!
