Local Church Serving the San Gabriel and Pomona Valley

Christ Church of the Valley (CCV) in San Dimas is impacting the local community. During the week of September 12th they had 50 volunteers repairing homes five homes. One home required significant work because the resident is a recent partial amputee. The church volunteers build an ramp that meets ADA code requirements, remodeled the bathroom. The family received all of these services free of charge through the church’s House 2 Home Ministry.

CCV was the title sponsor of San Dimas’ 5K the weekend of September 24th. Over 100 members from the church participated (ran or served) in the event. They served over 450 meals throughout the morning.

CCV is reaching out into the community once again on Saturday, October 1, 2011. This time they are targeting Single Moms and Moms in need through the third annual Bee A Blessing event. The event begins at 9am and ends at 2pm. The church is located at 1404 W. Covina Blvd, San Dimas. The major cross streets are Badillo and Valley Center.

The morning focuses on pampering the moms who attend the event. They will have an option to get a haircut, hairstyle, facial, manicure, massage, new outfit and a photograph. Many ladies will receive all of the services that are provided by the 250 volunteers. We have a resource section of community services and church programs that previous participants have requested more information.

The afternoon focuses on a lunch and hearing a lady share her personal story to instill a sense of hope within all of the ladies. The inspirational message is translated into Spanish so that everyone can understand her journey. All of this is FREE to anyone who attends.

Christ Church of the Valley is 4,800 member church. The senior pastor Jeff Vines, a former missionary, emphasizes the importance of serving the local and global community. He has given Jaime Mendoza Pastor of Local Outreach the charge to provide relevant and needed services within the San Gabriel and Pomona Valley.
