Bowen Du, 19, who is charged with the crosswalk death of Arcadia High School student Alice Zhang, will be arraigned Aug 11 on one count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Du was driving the evening of April 10 when the car allegedly struck and killed Zhang, who was crossing the street with a friend in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Her friend was seriously injured.
The judge cited negligence in the dirty windshield and the sun in his eyes at the time of the accident.
Du could be sentenced to 6 years in prison if convicted.
