Arcadia City Manager, Don Penman has announced that Robert Guthrie is now the new chief of police, officially, for the city of Arcadia.
” I was impressed with his commitment to public service…” Penman told the Arcadia Weekly.
He added that Guthrie is a ” well rounded and enthusiatic individual who will be a great asset to the Arcadia Police dept.”
Guthrie, joined the department as a cadet in 1989, has been serving as interim police chief after the retirement of Bob Sanderson in April when City Manager Don Penman appointed him permanently Monday.
After joining the department as a cadet the day after graduating high school, Guthrie became an officer in 1992, a sergeant in 1998, a lieutenant in 2005 and a captain in January this year.
