Antonovich Hopes Increasing Security Measures
Will Restore Public Trust at Dodgers Stadium
Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich expressed his support for Bryan Stow and his family and called on the Dodgers to immediately implement the strong security measures necessary to improve public safety at Dodger Stadium.
“We join with millions of county residents in praying for Bryan Stow and his recovery and send our best wishes to his family who have been through so much as a result of this tragedy,” he said.
“Unfortunately for Bryan and his family, the Dodgers’ promises to improve public safety are a day late and a dollar short. Hopefully, having former LAPD Chief Bratton initiate overdue security measures in and outside the stadium will restore the public trust by adding additional security personnel, enhancing lighting in the parking lot, limiting the sale of alcohol, reducing the size of alcohol containers and removing intoxicated and bullying fans.”
