Opening Night Ticket Sales for the AHS Guys and Dolls Production Sold Out – Tickets still available for other dates

Selling out on a Tuesday night might not seem like an achievement unless you consider the fact that it has never been done before at Arcadia High School. The combination of an increased loyal following to the Award Winning Theatre Department headed by Steven Volpe as well as broad community involvement spawned this sellout. Opening night has never been sold out in advance in the 59 year history of the high school. Mr. Volpe wanted the theatre goers to know that if they come on Tuesday night without a ticket the probability of them getting in to see the show is extremely low.
Sales of Guys and Dolls tickets were made available to the public this year for the first time on their new public website www.arcadiastage.com. While theatre goers cannot get tickets for Tuesday night they can still get tickets for Wednesday through Saturday.
This sellout is good news for the high school which is currently building a new 40,000 sq ft performing arts center on Campus with a 1,200 seat main theatre and a 250 seat black box theatre. This new performing arts center was paid for by the residents of Arcadia. This new performing arts center is part of the construction and school improvement work made possible through the community’s passage of the Measure I facilities bond in November 2006.
According to Volpe, “Arcadia High School has raised the bar on performance each year and has consistently enjoyed a pool of extremely talented young men and women with which to build an incredible cast.”
“Our reputation for delivering a consistently high quality of performance is supported by our growing fan base as well as our many drama awards,” added Volpe. “Over the last few years as we started to change the program, we have seen more and more of the students who graduated coming back to see our shows while they are in college.” This alone speaks volumes – who wants to go back to high school after they are in college?

“The theatre department at Arcadia High School is dedicated to continuing a tradition of raising the bar every year by producing the best stage productions possible,” said Volpe.
