Los Angeles Board of Supervisors will be asked to conduct a full and Independent Investigation regarding the destruction of 11 Acres of pristine woodlands in Arcadia last Wednesday.
The founding members of the alliance which tried desperately to save the 200 plus Oak and Sycamore trees that were bulldozed last week are: Cameron Stone, Christle Balvin and Glen Owens. These individuals who have spent countless hours and plenty of their own money fighting Public Works will attend the Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning along with a few who took to the trees in a valiant effort to protect them from execution and subsequently were arrested for their civil disobedience
. John Quigley, Julia Posin and Andrea Bowers are purportedly going to attend to ask why the county did not listen to alternatives and why the deception was so widespread.
The fight to save the trees from the county bulldozers has been long and hard for the people of Arcadia and surrounding areas.

Many people got involved in the massive environmental effort including actress Daryl Hannah, who told Beacon Media that it was devastating to hear the trees being destroyed. Hannah was willing to put up the bail money for those arrested but three were released on their own recognizance and the fourth individual remained in custody pending another outstanding warrant.
Beacon Media and Channel 5 KTLA were the first two media outlets to speak with Quigley, Posin and Bowers seconds after they were released.

Glen Owens told the Arcadia Weekly and Beacon Media Inc that it is the Peoples’ Land and why public works felt like they had to destroy so many trees for their purpose was deceitful and so very wrong.
